CRO-GRID Infrastructure: Project Overview and Perspectives

We have witnessed successes of production grids and various grid applications in last decade. Motivated by previous and current grid initiatives and raising science community demands for computing resources, project CRO-GRID was initiated. CRO-GRID is a national multi-project whose goals are introduction of grid and cluster technologies to science community and industry and development of distributed computing environment and grid applications. CRO-GRID Infrastructure is a part of CRO-GRID multi-project responsible for building underlying cluster and grid infrastructure. Furthermore, CRO-GRID Infrastructure will assure infrastructure maintenance and optimization and provide support to grid and cluster related projects. This paper describes research done in the CRO-GRID Infrastructure project, its status, and progress.
